CRIT FEEDBACK

Today we had a crit on our current progress so far. I wrote out various questions that I wanted answering in order to help me make design decisions and also to see if the topics I am studying are interesting to others. From the feedback I will be able to decide on the direction in which to go in.

Mandala Brief : Would you be interested in the book/kit with the information and content I am including, do you find it interesting?

  • The content is extremely interesting, you have a great amount of research, you need to produce some more design sheets in order to make the design process clearer and the concept nailed down.
  • I feel that this pack would be interesting and definitely catch peoples eye because of the intersting artwork and also the interactive elements. But would of been easier to understand with a short summary.
  • Would be interested in the kit, maybe needs more of an identity.?
  • Good research.
  • Make a start on designing the publication
  • I would personally be interested in the book however I'm not sure it would really be solving an actual problem. Aesthetically it could look really good though.
  • I am interested in the History and culture of mandalas.
Xmas Card Brief : Which concepts do you think work best from the xmas post card ideas presented on my blog? I have already handed in the brief but I am considering extending it as it was relatively quick to produce and I enjoyable.

  • Maybe look into wrapping paper, girft tags, xmas stationary
  • Clear visuals, with a really strong concept. Love the snowflake bomb.
  • I feel that the snowflak bomb design is the most succesful as it is the most decorative and links more with the xmas card aesthetic. If you were to develop more I would continue with this design style.
  • The melted bomb looks slightly falic
  • Snow flak works really well and I really like the glasses version.
Datashed Brief : Does the illustration make sense? Can you guess what the company does? Which version works better the box or the chart version?

  • I love the illustration - taken it quite literal communicated exactly.
  • I like the chart but like the box, have the chart coming out of the box more
I found the feedback fairly helpful however I think that next time I will present the work a bit more clearly. I seem to of got out of the habbit of producing concept boards which explain my project clearly to those who are not familiar with my project. This will also mean that the feedback I get will be a bit more well informed as apposed to general feedback. I think this style of crit works allot better than when your sat with the people your critting. Its hard to sometimes say what you need to withought coming across in the wrong way. I feel this anomous approach definitley helps with giving people feedback and also receiving.
